Farm Produce Waitlist
Trips to the grocery store are low on my list of favorite things. Usually, I stop on my way back from another errand, without a list and already hungry. That's never a successful trip.
I end up with a bag of salad I grab from the produce section, some sandwich meat, a box of cookies, ice cream, yogurt, spaghetti sauce and a pack of ground beef. Then I stand in line to checkout or go through self checkout to spend $100+ on a few bags of groceries.
When I get home, I still don't have everything I need to make lunches or suppers for the week but I do have plenty of sweets.
And the bag of lettuce I grabbed, it's turning brown in a couple days.
But, when our Spring garden is in season - it's a completely different experience.
I'll walk out in the morning or evening, smile at the rows of lettuce, radishes, bok choy, arugula - oh, look, the broccoli is finally starting to grow.
If it's just for me, I'll cut a small head of lettuce and walk back to the house. Where it lives happily in my fridge for two weeks or more. Two weeks!!
When we harvest for our Subscription members, we choose the fullest lettuce, harvest baby swiss chard, spinach, arugula, sorrel and more for salad mix, pull beautiful radishes and select any other items at their peak the evening before pickup.
Everything is bagged and placed in a brown paper bag with your name on it to pick up at the barn.
And instead of waiting in line to check out, take a few minutes and sit on the porch to enjoy the view!
Summer subscriptions feature home grown tomatoes (the kind that you can never buy in the store), zucchini, green beans, blueberries, peppers and so much more!
And, if you're thinking "I don't really eat zucchini" - we provide you with recipes! (and zucchini has 101 possibilities - probably literally)
So, now that I have you craving fresh salad or home grown tomatoes, make sure you sign up for our waitlist to be the first to know when our next season is available or if we have spots open in our current season!
